My name is Leigh Cherry and I first developed an interest in Spanish during high school which eventually inspired me to temporarily stop my university studies at Brigham Young University to live on the southern-most part of the Texas/Mexican Border. While there I developed a great love for the Spanish language and culture and returned to BYU, taught Spanish at a Language Training Center for 3 years and then graduated in 2007 with a degree in Spanish Teaching. I accepted a teaching position outside of Houston, TX where I taught High School Spanish I and II. After finishing my second year of public school teaching, I moved back to Utah to begin a Master's program in Spanish Pedagogy at BYU. I am currently a second year Graduate student and instructor. My two greatest areas of interest in foreign language teaching are language anxiety and heritage speakers, hence the creation of this site.
